PGI Pithoragarh College Students Explore X-ray and Advanced Imaging at District Hospital
On December 8, 2023, Pithoragarh Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Pithoragarh College of Nursing a unit of the Pithoragarh Group of Institutions organized a visit to B.D Pandey District hospital in the pathology and radiology lab where we gave a demonstration about equipment, , instruments, and imaging modalities and the advancement techniques. The visit was organized by the Pithoragarh Institute of Biomedical Science at the college and was aimed at providing students with an opportunity to see personally how X-rays are used in a clinical setting and to learn about the latest technologies that are being used to improve the quality and accuracy of medical imaging.
During the visit, respected CMS ma’am Mrs. M.K. Nabhiyal, Mr. Kamlesh Tiwari (blood bank in-charge), Mrs. Sapna Chand (lab technician), and Mr. Amit (X-ray technician) directed and motivated the students to improve their skills, grow, and achieve their goals in the future. The students were given a tour of the radiology department and were shown how X-rays are taken.
They were also given a presentation on the different types of imaging modalities that are available, such as CT scans, MRI scans, and ultrasound. The students were particularly interested in learning about the latest advancements in imaging technology, such as the use of artificial intelligence to improve the quality of images.
This visit aims to have knowledge about the equipment, instruments, and imaging modalities and their advancement. The visit was a valuable learning experience for the students. It provided them with a better understanding of how X-rays and other imaging modalities are used in medicine and gave them an opportunity to see the latest technologies that are being used to improve patient care.
