B.Sc Nursing Program (B.Sc.Nursing)
B.Sc Nursing is a four-year undergraduate program that equips students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in patient care, medical ethics, health promotion, disease prevention, and healthcare management. The curriculum includes nursing science, research, and leadership, preparing graduates for diverse roles in hospitals, clinics, and community health settings. India has improved its nurse-to-population ratio from 0.8 per 1,000 people in 2000 to 1.7 in 2020, though still below the WHO-recommended 3 per 1,000. B.Sc Nursing graduates can become registered nurses and pursue higher studies like a Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing for specialization and advanced career opportunities.
General Nursing & Midwifery Program (GNM)
General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) is a three-year diploma program that prepares students to provide comprehensive care to individuals, families, and communities. The curriculum balances theoretical knowledge with practical training to develop competent nursing professionals. Students receive hands-on experience through clinical training in hospitals, clinics, community centers, and other healthcare facilities. This practical exposure helps them apply their learning, build essential clinical skills, and gain confidence in real-world healthcare environments. Guided by experienced professionals, GNM graduates are well-equipped to work in a variety of healthcare settings and deliver effective, compassionate nursing care across diverse patient populations.

Primary Clinical Training Hospitals:
1) B.D. Pandey District Hospital, Pithoragarh – 182 beds
2) Base Hospital, Pithoragarh – 200 beds
3) Sub District Hospital, Pithoragarh – 50 beds
Manila Hospital, Pithoragarh
With a combined capacity of 432 beds, these hospitals provide training in emergency care, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics, and many other specialties.
Specialized Psychiatric Training:
For mental health nursing, we have a formal tie-up with Nur Manzil Psychiatry Centre, Lucknow, ensuring students gain hands-on experience in psychiatric care.

Pithoragarh Group of Institutions, Pithoragarh, is proud to have Prof. Sandeep K.R at its helm as Principal. With an illustrious career spanning 16 years, Prof. Sandeep has established himself as a renowned expert in nursing education and healthcare management.

Prof. Sandeep’s academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, in 2007. He further enhanced his expertise with a Master of Science in Nursing (Community Health Nursing) from Sikkim Manipal University in 2011. His passion for healthcare management led him to pursue an MBA in Healthcare Management from Sikkim Manipal University in 2013.
